  16. This BIOS update is compatible with all models of the Diamond
  17. Fire GL 1000 Pro hardware, including 4 and 8MB PCI and AGP bus 
  18. cards.

  23. This BIOS version is compatible with Fire GL 1000 Pro SuperCD releases 
  24. 1.1 and higher.

  26. Installation
  27. ============

  29. Before beginning, determine the current BIOS version by examining the 
  30. Fire GL 1000 Pro boot string displayed on the screen when your computer
  31. is powered up. Updating your BIOS is recommended if the version number 
  32. displayed is less than the current version number called out at the 
  33. top of this document.

  35. Your computer must be running in DOS mode only when updating the BIOS
  36. on your Fire GL 1000 Pro. If you are using Windows95 as your operating
  37. system, reboot your machine in DOS mode only before running the BIOS
  38. update utility.

  40. If you are running NT4 or any other operating system that does not
  41. support DOS only operation, you will need to format a DOS boot diskette
  42. and copy the update utility to this diskette in order to update your
  43. Fire GL 1000 Pro BIOS.

  45. Usage
  46. =====

  48. Caution! The update program cannot run properly if started in a DOS box
  49. under Win95 or NT. Make sure the following files are available in your
  50. current working directory, and that your machine is running in DOS only mode
  51. before starting the update procedure:

  53. biosload.exe    - Executable program that transfers the updated BIOS
  54.           file to the card
  55. f1kp148.bin    - BIOS file 
  56.  
  57. update.bat    - Batch file called to update the BIOS
  58.  
  59. Dos4gw.exe    - DOS Extender utility (required to run the executable )
  60.  
  61. update.pif    - Win95 profile to run the update batch file in DOS only mode
  62.  
  63. From the directory where these files are located, enter the command
  64. "update.bat" from the command line in order to initiate the BIOS
  65. update.

  67. Troubleshooting

  70. If your Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro does not operate properly after the BIOS
  71. has been updated, consult your documentation for information on
  72. contacting Diamond Tech Support, or ask your computer dealer for
  73. assistance.
